Dragonball ZT RPG

Saiyans

High gravity, very strong humanoids with spiky black hair.

Zenkai Boost
Being nearly killed (reduced down to your last 5 Hits) automatically increases a Saiyan's Power Level by a factor of 1.5. This increase is converted to XP to be allocated as per normal.

Saiyan Rage
Initially it takes a major event - death of a family member or best friend, for example - to trigger Saiyan Rage. When enraged, a Saiyan's Power Level is doubled, and their Physical and Combat are increased by 20% for 1D6 + 5 phases. Saiyans may only become enraged once a battle.

Super Saiyan Sulk
After a Rage fades, Saiyans tend to just give up. They then blame themselves and sulk a lot, only to train even harder for the next battle.

A Saiyan who has undergone the Super Saiyan transformation (see below) will not give up, but they do lose their multipliers once the rage fades.

Oozaru
The Oozaru transformations may only take place at night. Assuming it's night (GM's call), there is a 2 in 6 chance the moon's full (2 or less on 1D6). The Saiyan must also be outside in direct moonlight.

If they are able to transform, changing to a Great Ape increases a Saiyan's size about ten times, multiplying their Power Level by 10, increasing their Physical and Hits by 200%, and their Combat by 50%. It takes 1 round to transform.

Once transformed, they can maintain their Great Ape state until either:

  • Someone cuts off their tail (takes at least 15 dice)
  • The moon sets / disappears
  • They decide they've stomped enough cities for a night.
  • Note: If a tail is cut off, it will regrow in about five years (unless it is permanently removed via magic or high tech surgery).

Super Saiyan
To become a Super Saiyan, the following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must be pure of heart or pure of purpose.
  • The Saiyan must be in a state of Saiyan Rage.
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 200,000.
If the Saiyan successfully meets the above criteria, roll 2D6 - on a roll of 2, they have triggered the transformation. If failed, they may re-roll each phase until they succeed.

Once they have successfully transformed, they are able to shift to Super Saiyan any time they are already enraged and can roll a 4 or less on 2D6.

As a Super Saiyan, current Power Level multiplies by 25, and Physical and Combat increase by 250%.

Super Saiyan can't be maintained forever. A character will drop out of Super Saiyan and revert to their base Power Level whenever they are below half their total Hits. They can also choose to drop out of Super Saiyan at any time.
  • Note: When enraged, a Super Saiyan ignores the half hits requirement.

Mastering Super Saiyan
A character masters Super Saiyan through practice and repetition. After one complete month of training, the character attempts to become a Super Saiyan by rolling a 4 or less. If successful, the number the character must roll on subsequent attempts increases by 1. If failed, the character must train for another month and try again. Eventually, once the character has increased this number to 12, the character may become a Super Saiyan at will.

  • Example: Mike has finally become a Super Saiyan. Each subsequent attempt to become a Super Saiyan, he must roll 4 or less on 2D6. Mike trains for a month and rolls a 3 - He becomes a Super Saiyan and subsequent attempts only require 5 or less. After another month, he rolls 2D6 for a result of 7, failing. He continues training and after another month attempts again, this time rolling 4. Now Mike can become a Super Saiyan on 6 or less with 2D6.

"Everyday" Super Saiyan
A character becomes an "Everyday" Super Saiyan through yet more practice and repetition. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must have mastered the Super Saiyan transformation (see above).
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 15,000,000.
For each month of constant training, the player rolls 2D6. If the result is 2, that month of training is successful. The character then trains for an additional month and rolls 2D6. If the second result is 3 or less, that month is successful. If not, the character must repeat that month's training. The character continues training until the number reaches 12.

An "Everyday" Super Saiyan no longer reverts at half damage or when knocked unconscious. The only way the character will revert to normal is by their own free will.
  • Note: Until "Everyday" Super Saiyan has been mastered, higher levels of Super Saiyan will also revert at half damage or when knocked unconscious, in addition to their own requirements.

Ultimate Super Saiyan
Ultimate Super Saiyan is a theoretical increase to the power output of the Super Saiyan transformation that must be discovered or unlocked. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must have mastered the Super Saiyan transformation (see above).
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 10,000,000.
  • The Saiyan's Power total, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 100.
  • The Saiyan must unlock the secret.
Unlocking the secret of becoming an Ultimate Super Saiyan requires months of intense training and study. Every month studied, the Saiyan can attempt to pass a Competent (18) Mind AT to realize it can be done. Once unlocked, the warrior may attempt to transform from Super Saiyan to Ultimate Super Saiyan by rolling 2D6. On a result of 4 or less, the warrior may undergo the transformation. Once transformed, the Ascended Saiyan's Power Level and Physical are doubled; their Combat is halved.
  • Example: Mike's Power Level as a Super Saiyan is 11,014,000. His Fighting Skill is 135, and his Physical is 53, and his Combat is 56, making his Fighting Total 191 and Damage 188. As an Ultimate Super Saiyan, his Power Level becomes 22,028,000. His Fighting Skill is still 135, his Physical becomes 105, and his Combat becomes 28. His Fighting Total is now 163 and his Damage is 240, a reduction in his ability to hit his target due to the transformation being bulkier and slower, but packing more of a punch if an attack lands.
Ultimate Super Saiyan can't be maintained forever; the transformation automatically ends whenever the Saiyan drops below the minimum Power total requirement. They can also choose to drop out of Ultimate Super Saiyan at any time.

The Ultimate Super Saiyan transformation is inefficient in the use of ki. For each phase the transformation is active, a user's ki decreases by 8% of their Power total, first from their reserve until it is depleted, then their available ki.
  • Example: Mike's Power Level as a Super Saiyan is 11,014,000, with a Power skill of 134 and Physical of 53, for a Power total of 190. He has Powered Up 152 ki, with 38 in reserve. As an Ultimate Super Saiyan, his Power Level becomes 22,028,000, with a Power total of 162. He now has 155 ki Powered Up, but with 7 in reserve due to his lowered maximum. Next phase, he will exhaust the 7 in his reserve, and 6 from his Powered Up ki, leaving 149. The next phase, an additional 13 ki will be exhausted from his Powered Up ki. Once his total ki has been reduced below 100, the transformation will automatically cease.
  • Note: When enraged, an Ultimate Super Saiyan ignores the minimum Power total requirement.
Once the warrior has undergone the transformation once, subsequent transformations can become easier, until mastered (see above). For each month a Saiyan succeeds towards mastering Ultimate Super Saiyan, the total drain is reduced by 1%. Once mastered, an Ultimate Super Saiyan experiences no ki drain.

Super Saiyan 2
Super Saiyan 2 is a lot like becoming a Super Saiyan again, only bigger. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must have mastered the Super Saiyan transformation (see above).
  • The Saiyan must be in a state of both Super Saiyan and Saiyan Rage.
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 20,000,000.
  • The Saiyan's Power total, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 200.
If the Saiyan successfully meets all the above criteria, roll 2D6 - on a roll of 2, they have triggered the transformation and they explode in power and ability, doubling their Power Level, Physical, Combat, and Move. This is on top of the Super Saiyan and Saiyan Rage stats. If failed, they may re-roll each phase until they succeed.

The total Power multiplier for a Super Saiyan 2 warrior is 100 (25 for Super Saiyan, 2 for Saiyan Rage - while active - and 2 for Super Saiyan 2), and a 620% increase for Characteristics (250% for Super Saiyan, multiplied by 100% for Super Saiyan 2, and multiplied by 20% for Saiyan Rage - while active).

Super Saiyan 2 can't be maintained forever; the transformation automatically ends whenever the Saiyan drops below the minimum Power total requirement. They can also choose to drop out of Super Saiyan 2 at any time.

The Super Saiyan 2 transformation is inefficient in the use of ki. For each phase the transformation is active, a user's ki decreases by 10% of their Power total, first from their reserve until it is depleted, then their active pool.
  • Note: When enraged, a Super Saiyan 2 ignores the minimum Power total requirement.
  • Example: Mike's Power Level is 404,710, with a Power skill of 134 and Physical of 15, for a Power total of 150. He has Powered Up 120 ki, with 30 in reserve. As an enraged Super Saiyan, his Power Level becomes 22,028,000, with a Power total of 201. He now has 153 ki Powered Up, with 38 in reserve. Mike's rage is enough and he erupts into an enraged Super Saiyan 2, his Power Level now at 44,056,000, with a Power Total of 249. He has 184 ki Powered Up, with 46 in reserve. Mike's reserve is immediately reduced by 25, due to the transformation's strain. Next phase, he will exhaust the remaining 21 ki in his reserve, and 4 from his Powered Up ki, leaving 180. Because he is still enraged, the transformation is maintained, even though Mike's total ki is below 200. Once his Saiyan Rage is used up, Mike will automatically returns to his Super Saiyan state if his total Ki is below 200.
Once the warrior has undergone the transformation once, subsequent transformations can become easier, until mastered (see above). For each month a Saiyan succeeds towards mastering Super Saiyan 2, the total drain is reduced by 1%. Once mastered, a Super Saiyan 2 experiences a drain of 2% of their Maximum Power Level each phase.

Super Saiyan 3
Super Saiyan 3 could be considered the ultimate form of Super Saiyan 2, in that it is a theoretical massive increase in power output, and is discovered or unlocked without needing Saiyan Rage. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must have mastered the Super Saiyan 2 transformation (see above).
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 25,000,000.
  • The Saiyan's available ki, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 300.
  • The Saiyan must unlock the secret.
Unlocking the secret of becoming a Super Saiyan 3 requires months of intense training and study. Every month studied, the Saiyan can attempt to pass a Heroic (22) Mind AT to realize it can be done. Once unlocked, the warrior may attempt to transform from Super Saiyan 2 to Super Saiyan 3 by rolling 2D6. On a result of 2, the warrior may undergo the transformation. Once transformed, the Even Further Beyond Ascended Saiyan explodes in power and ability, quadrupling their Power Level, Physical, and Combat. This is on top of the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 stats.

The total Power multiplier for a Super Saiyan 3 warrior is 200 (25 for Super Saiyan, 2 for Super Saiyan 2, and 4 for Super Saiyan 3) and a 2,000% increase for Characteristics. If a Super Saiyan also happens to be in a state of Saiyan Rage at the time, the total Power multiplier would be a whopping 400, with a 2,420% increase for Characteristics!

Super Saiyan 3 can't be activated on a whim; the transformation can only be undergone whenever the Saiyan has gathered the minimum ki requirement through Powering Up.

Super Saiyan 3 can't be maintained forever; the transformation automatically ends whenever the Saiyan drops below the minimum gathered ki requirement. They can also choose to drop out of Super Saiyan 3 at any time.

The Super Saiyan 3 transformation is an extremely inefficient use of ki, placing a massive strain on a user's body. For each phase the transformation is active, a user burns 10% of their Power total in ki, first from their reserve until it is depleted, then their available ki. Additionally, they also burn 10% of their Maximum Hits.
  • Note: When enraged, a Super Saiyan 3 ignores the minimum available ki requirement.
Once the warrior has undergone the transformation once, subsequent transformations can become easier, until mastered (see above). For each month a Saiyan succeeds towards mastering Super Saiyan 3, the total drain is reduced by 0.5%. Even mastered, a Super Saiyan 3 will always drain 5% of their Power total in ki, and 5% of their Maximum Hits each phase.

Wrathful (Broly)
Wrathful is a form unique to Broly, which utilizes the power, physical strength, and durability of the Oozaru transformation in a humanoid form, without losing any agility. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must have permanently lost their tail.
  • The Saiyan must be in a state of Saiyan Rage.
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 1,000,000.
If the Saiyan successfully meets all the above criteria, they enter the Wrathful transformation for 1D6 + 5 phases, allowing them to multiply their Power Level by 10, increase their Physical, Combat, and Hits and Defense by 200%.

Wrathful can't be maintained forever. A character will drop out of Wrathful and revert to their base Power Level whenever they are below half their total Hits.

The Wrathful transformation is an extremely inefficient use of ki, placing a massive strain on a user's body. For each phase the transformation is active, a user burns 10% of their Maximum Hits.
  • Note: When enraged, a Wrathful Saiyan ignores the half hits requirement.
Once the warrior has undergone the transformation once, subsequent transformations can become easier, until mastered (see above). For each month a Saiyan succeeds towards mastering Wrathful, the total drain is reduced by 1%. Once mastered, a Wrathful Saiyan experiences a drain of 2% of their Maximum Hits each phase.

Legendary Super Saiyan (Broly)
Legendary Super Saiyan is a form unique to Broly. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan must be in a state of both Wrathful and Saiyan Rage.
  • The Saiyan's Power Level, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 20,000,000.
  • The Saiyan's available ki, as a result of the above, must be a minimum of 400.
If the Saiyan successfully meets all the above criteria, roll 2D6 - on a roll of 2, they have triggered the transformation and they undergo the Legendary transformation. If failed, they may re-roll each phase until they succeed.

The total Power multiplier for a Legendary Super Saiyan warrior is 500 (250 for Legendary Super Saiyan, 2 for Saiyan Rage - while active), and a 3,020% increase for Characteristics (2,500% for Legendary Super Saiyan, multiplied by 20% for Saiyan Rage - while active).

Legendary Super Saiyan can't be maintained forever; the transformation automatically ends whenever the Saiyan drops below the minimum Power total requirement. They can also choose to drop out of Legendary Super Saiyan at any time.

The Legendary Super Saiyan transformation is an extremely inefficient use of ki, placing a massive strain on a user's body. For each phase the transformation is active, a user burns 15% of their Power total in ki, first from their reserve until it is depleted, then their available ki. Additionally, they also burn 15% of their Maximum Hits.
  • Note: When enraged, a Legendary Super Saiyan ignores the minimum Power total requirement.
Once the warrior has undergone the transformation once, subsequent transformations can become easier, until mastered (see above). Super Saiyan God
If a Saiyan is able to accomplish the incredible feat of tapping into the power of the gods, they are able to access a power known as Super Saiyan God, multiplying their Power Level by an incredible 1,000 times, and increasing their Physical and Combat by 10,000%. The following conditions must apply:

  • The Saiyan's Base Power Level must be a minimum of 1,000,000.
  • The Saiyan's Power total must be a minimum of 400.
A Saiyan can additionally achieve the Super Saiyan transformation while in a state of Super Saiyan God. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, also commonly referred to as Super Saiyan Blue, multiplies a Saiyan's Power Level by an incredible 1,025 times, and increases their Physical and Combat by 10,250%.
