Space Travel
Faster Than Light
All spaceships operate using anti-gravity drives, rendering ships essentially "massless" in space, while imparting their hulls with inertial velocities.
Spaceships are always used as a means of transportation; there are no battleships or weapons being used by ships.
Spaceships are used primarily to cross between star systems; they don't race around the atmosphere or engage in dogfights.
In general, the smaller the ship, the faster the ship.
Near Star Rating
Any star that the fastest ship could reach in a day. This is generally 5 light years distant. When determining distances, ask yourself:
- Using the fastest ship available, could I reach this planet from where I am in a day?
- If not, how many days would it take for me to reach this planet using the fastest ship available?
Once you have determined how long it will take the fastest ship to make the trip, find your ship on the following scale:
Speed
| NS
|
Very Fast
| 1 Day
|
Fast
| 1 Week
|
Average
| 1 Month
|
Slow
| 1 Year
|
When found, change the number of days to the appropriate measurement for that ship.
- Example: A very fast ship takes off from Earth for Haderan, a not-so-near star. The trip will take 10 days. This means a fast ship will make the trip in 10 weeks, an average ship in 10 months, and a slow ship in 10 years.
Getting a Spaceship
Your options are generally limited to where you come from.
- If you're an Alien, depending on your race and planet of origin you may have access to a Spacepod, or possibly a larger Spaceship with a crew.
- If you're from Earth, you may have access to a Capsule Corp Spaceship.
- If you're from Namek, you may have access to a Snailship.
Building a Spaceship
Determine your Planet's Tech Level:
Tech Level
| Description
|
A
| No way you're going into space.
|
B
| Spaceships are rare and have to be built for the occasion. Ships are Slow.
|
C
| Spaceships are common but only pulled out of the hangar for special travel. Ships are typically Average to Fast.
Roll 1D6. On 1-4, your ship level is Average, on a 5-6, it is Fast.
|
D
| Spaceships are common and used in everyday travel like jet airliners. Ships are typically Very Fast.
|
Find someone to build your ship:
Die Roll
| Ship Builder
|
1
| Typical garage mechanic / inventor: Typical "mad scientist" working from his garage, experimenting in technology.
Roll 1D6. 1 = Drop one tech level. 3-4 = Par for your tech level. 5-6 = Raise one tech level.
|
2-3
| Spaceship Engineer: Ship is at par for your planet's tech level, produced by the best minds your planet has to offer.
|
4-5
| Advanced Engineer: Typical comic book super scientist. Thanks to this genius, your ship will be one tech level higher than your planetary level, or if stuck at average, rises to fast.
|
6
| Supergenius: Your ship is two tech levels higher than your planetary level.
|
- Example: Bloggins plans to meet old friends on Namek. He gets Mad Doctor Garik (a garage inventor) to build him a spaceship. Since Bloggins comes from Earth, his base tech level is B, which means his ship's NS rating is a year. But Doctor Garik rolls a 6, raising his design from tech B to tech C, changing the NS rating to a week.
Determine what extras your Ship Designer has added:
- Locate your inventor's rating at the top of the chart, then roll 1D6 in their column for each additional feature of your ship.

- Example: Bloggins decides to visit Vemipar to participate in the Interstellar Vampire Bukodan. He steals a Red Ribbon experimental spaceship (advanced engineers). Rolling our way down the chart, we find his ship also comes with an Anti-Theft and Anti-Intruder System (4 and 5), a Planetary Automatic Pilot (3), a Mini Exploration Flyer (5), and a Healing Tank (5).
